These Terms of Use govern your use of the HeadCoach for Physicians program including access to the program via your computer or mobile phone. Access to and use of the Program is subject to your acceptance of these Terms of Use.

By accessing HeadCoach for Physicians you accept and consent to, without limitation or qualification, all of the Terms of Use. Before using HeadCoach please review these Terms of Use carefully.

The Black Dog Institute and University of New South Wales (UNSW reserve the right to amend these Terms of Use without notice to you at any time, however, we will post the amended Terms of Use onto the website.

You will be deemed to have accepted and agreed to the revised Terms of Use if you continue to use any section of the site after notice of the revised Terms of Use has been placed on the site.

About HeadCoach for Physicians

HeadCoach for Physicians is an evidence based online training program produced in Australia by researchers in the Workplace Mental Health Team at The Black Dog Institute and University of New South Wales (UNSW). It is part of the Prevention Hub – Australia’s first integrated research translation initiative for preventing anxiety and depression. Co-led by the Black Dog Institute and Everymind, The Prevention Hub focuses on implementing and evaluating preventive strategies for anxiety and depression in a wide range of settings to achieve the greatest possible impact and reach. The HeadCoach program uses an online mode of delivery to help people in leadership positions better recognise and understand mental health in the workplace, and highlight what managers and supervisors can do to help keep their workers as healthy and productive as possible.

Who is HeadCoach for Physiciansfor?

HeadCoach for Physicians is a workplace mental health training program specifically for RACP Physicians who are supervising Physician Trainees. It is made up of 3 topics. Each of these topics will have a set of 10-minute modules to work through. Completion of the program can occur in one go or spread out over a few days, or a few weeks. This freedom and flexibility has been incorporated in the design so learning pace is matched to individual styles and to ensure supervisors can fit Head Coach for Physicians into their busy schedules.

Terms and conditions

The information provided throughout HeadCoach for Physicians is intended for information and educational purposes only. This site is not designed to diagnose or treat mental health disorders. The diagnosis and treatment of such disorders requires a qualified mental health professional. None of the information on this website is a substitute for a diagnosis and treatment by an appropriate health professional.

It is not yet known if HeadCoach for Physicians is an effective program for improving mental health problems among Physician trainees and the Black Dog Institute and UNSW and its staff make no claims as to its effectiveness.

Persons under age 16 with mental health concerns are advised to talk with their parents or other responsible adults about getting help for mental health issues from a qualified person.

The scales used on the site are also intended solely to provide information. Individuals who feel depressed, anxious, or are using alcohol or other substances at hazardous/harmful levels are advised to talk to a health professional.

To the full extent permitted by law, Black Dog Institute, UNSW, its staff, agents, contractors and students shall have no liability for claims by, or loss, injury, cost, expense or damages of any kind whatsoever to, a user of this website or any other person however arising in connection with the website or any decision or action taken in reliance on the information contained on this website.
